ABOUT US

Culpeper Felines & Friends is a 501(c)(3) non profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of companion animals in Culpeper County, and finding permanent and loving homes for the felines in our care. We provide a safe haven for animals in transition through a network of foster homes, and serve as advocates for homeless and helpless felines in our community.

In 2012 CF&F found homes for over 400 cats. We are set to increase that number significantly in 2013. As of the end of October we are closing in on 500 adoptions. All of these cats were spay/neutered, vaccinated and micro-chipped.

We depend on the generosity of people like you so we can continue our efforts to help the animals. Please consider a donation through the CFC or directly here on this Web site.

Grady

Meet Grady. Grady is one of my all-time favorite cats! He is 2 years old and a rather big guy -- one big couch potato and a bundle of love to boot!. Grady is a neutered cat and is a *FOSTER MOM FAVORITE*. He is a Turkish Van -- all white on his body except for a striped tabby tail and a tabby "cap" on his head. He is your typical Oscar Madison kinda cat...an easy going, laid-back, couch potato, and a big, old huggable kind of guy. He reminds me of Thomas O'Malley, the alley cat from the Aristocats movie...he just goes with the flow and isn't ruffled by anyone or anything.
It is thought that Grady somehow got lost from his home and must've wound up with a colony of cats, probably for companionship and to find food. He was found in Culpeper as a stray and has a tipped ear (which is when the neutering vet nips off the very tip of the ear off to signal that he has been neutered).
For as sweet as he is, Grady has had it rough. He was 1st adopted to a college student, who left for college months later and left her Dad to care for Grady. "Dad" didn't like cats and dumped  Grady at the shelter. You can imagine my shock when I walked into the shelter to find my poor, sweet Grady back in a cage!!! I immediately took him out of the cage and held him close. I got a little nuzzle on my cheek, as if to say thank you.
Grady came back home with me and fell in love with a female cat. They were inseparable and had to be adopted together. A lady adopted them both and w/in a few days, brought Grady's girlfriend back because she hid. She kept Grady a few months more, and just yesterday, my sweet Grady was brought back, too, no fault of his own.  Sadly, he missed his girlfriend by just 1 month - she was adopted out just a month ago.
He seems lost and confused as to why he is back at his foster home again. I am happy to see him. I love this guy! Grady is again blending in with my house and cats - just where he left off. He is such an easy-going guy. Who wouldn't love him?? We're going to hope that the 3rd time is the charm for this sweet boy.
Grady is up to date on all shots, and as you might expect, gets along with every creature. He is neutered, tested negative for feline leukemia, up to date on shots, and microchipped. If you could find room in your heart and your house for this big lug, please contact his foster mom, Lynn, at GoodMews22@aol.com.
