Say hello to
Tisha and her boyfriend,
Sweet Baby. Tisha is a mostly white cat with patches of color on her head and tail, Sweet Baby (named for Sweet Baby James - James Taylor) is a brown tabby. Both are about 1 - 2 years old and both have quite a story to tell.
Tisha was found as a stray with her litter of kittens last spring in downtown Culpeper. They were taken to the shelter, and brought to a foster home. Sweet Baby was found as a young kitten with his brother, eating from the porch of his now foster mom. Long story short, his brother was caught and brought into the foster home first, but Sweet Baby did everything to stay near his brother without actually being caught.
He began to cry loudly on the porch for his brother every night. He slept in the heated dog carrier and on the patio furniture on the porch, and would even put his paw inside the window and touch his foster mom's hand, but wouldn't come inside. Finally, after many months, he finally allowed himself to be caught and was rejoined with his brother. Oh happy days! His first night, he was placed in a condo (to get used to human touch) in the room his brother was in. I woke up to find that somehow his brother had unlocked the condo and freed him and they were sleeping, all curled up together, side by side. Together again at last!
Sweet Baby and his brother lived with their foster mom for over a year. Sadly, his brother died suddenly from an aggressive lung infection last summer. Sweet Baby was lost without him. Tisha had come just a few weeks earlier and was adjusting to her foster home.
Throughout the months, they moved to different rooms in the house together, but it wasn't until last September when Cupid's arrow struck their hearts. Now they are inseparable. They eat and sleep together and groom each other. As you can see from the pictures, they now sit atop the "crow's nest" in the climber and watch the world together.
Both cats are similar in personality. Both cats are healthy. They are respectful of furniture, great in the litter box, but will not allow themselves to be touched or pet. They just like to live happily without human contact. Kinda crazy, but it works for them. That's not to say that the right person in a quiet home can't get them to blossom...they probably can. At one point, Tisha allowed herself to be petted on a regular basis, but when her foster mom went back to work, she became 'aloof' again. They must be indoor only cats.
These two sweetie pies will need a special person to love them. Someone who is patient and will allow them to flourish in their new home. Both Tisha and Sweet Baby are spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccines, combo tested, and microchipped. For more information on these little lovebirds, please contact Lynn at
